Harley-Davidson® brings the iconic styling of the previous Nightster™ back and combines it with the ultimate sporty powerhouse with the Revolution Max™ engine. It incorporates modern technology with classic styling, whilst of course supporting that iconic bar and shield Harley-Davidson® logo on the fuel tank styled airbox.
Our eCommerce Manager, Tim, took our Nightster™ demo bike out for a night on the road - and we caught up with him to find out how he got on with the bike and what he thought about it.
"The Nightster™ definitely fits into its sporty class. It gives you easy passing power and I found it exciting to ride. I especially liked the length of each gear - it was better than some of the other cruisers I've tried as the gears had a substantial length to them, allowing for more riding fun. It's quite a smooth bike to ride and Harley® has definitely made it to be quite mid- to high-range bulky as you notice an incredible amount of eagerness in the third gear onwards."
"The handling was noticeably great on the Nightster™. With the fuel tank being relocated it meant cornering and low-speed manoeuvres were easy. I'm usually used to riding naked sport bikes, so the initial change took a little bit of adjusting to, but I fell into the Nightster™ quite swiftly as it was so easy to handle and so light! Filtering was easy too, even with the bar-end mirrors - it was easy to whip through traffic and sit comfortably at the traffic lights.
The brakes were something of a soft spot on the model for me. I would say more braking power would be ideal for me as I had to pull the lever quite hard to get substantial stopping force. Although this is pretty common on cruisers and it may just be part of the style, I would look at getting this element upgraded - but it depends on the style of riding you prefer.
Also cruisers would usually give me a sore back after half an hour, but I was riding the Nightster™ for almost two hours with no problems at all. There is a comfortable reach to the handlebars and the suspension was firm but comfy. Plus this is adjustable anyway so you can adjust it to your preference."
"I didn't use much of the technology available. I felt the ABS kick in once when I rode over a pothole which was nice to know it was in full working order. One nice feature to note was the keyless ignition - always extremely helpful as it doesn't allow me to forget the keys in the ignition! Other than that I quite liked the display, not too much information at hand but everything you would need for your day-to-day journey. It had ride modes too, which of course any rider almost forgets as soon as they sit in the saddle as there is only one true riding mode and that's sport!"
"For me personally I would change the exhaust, perhaps for something along the lines of Vance and Hines Shorts Shots. They're more up my street and would definitely add a little bit of that iconic Harley® rumble at the lower rev range. The bike would tend to only provide that famous sound at higher revs so I would love to have that throughout, even when I'm sitting at the lights.
Additionally, as I mentioned before, I would potentially upgrade the brakes and pads, as there was a little bit of a struggle for the braking point for me."
"Overall the Nightster™ is a stunning-looking cruiser, it definitely appeals to my minimalistic style. It was light and compact which I liked as compared to normal Harley-Davidson® motorcycles, it's a hell of a lot easier to move around. So for anyone wanting the Harley® ride lifestyle without the weight, it's perfect. I would probably say the Nightster™ is tailored for the smaller person, or anyone looking for a small and nimble ride to whip around effortlessly. With the price it's on the market, I imagine you'll definitely see more and more of these models about as its a lot more affordable than the Grand Tourer range - and you'll still get that awesome bar and shield on the side of your 'tank'..."

Laguna Motorcycles Limited (which include multiple trading names: Laguna Motorcycles, Laguna Performance Centre, Laguna Triumph, Maidstone Honda, Maidstone Harley-Davidson® and Kent Motorcycles) is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Laguna Motorcycles Limited (which include multiple trading names: Laguna Motorcycles, Laguna Performance Centre, Laguna Triumph, Maidstone Honda, Maidstone Harley-Davidson® and Kent Motorcycles) to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.
We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a carefully selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. We act on behalf of the lender for this introduction and not as your agent. We are not impartial, and we are not an independent financial advisor.
Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next most suitable offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure a suitable finance agreement for you that enables you to achieve your financial objectives. If you purchase a vehicle, in the majority of cases, we will receive a commission from your lender for introducing you to them which is either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you purchase.
Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement; however, you will be contributing towards the commission paid to us with the interest collected on your repayments. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission. The exact amount of commission that we will receive will be confirmed prior to you signing your finance agreement.
