Chris just got back from an epic, bucket list trip around Europe on his Triumph Rocket III TFC.
“After a few shorter camping runs, I finally put it to the test on a longer journey and it did not disappoint”
“The Rocket III handled all conditions flawlessly and carried enough gear to make camping comfortable, proving itself as the ultimate travel companion.”
The trip covered a massive loop through Europe, starting and ending in Calais, with stops in Sicily, Dubrovnik, Peenemunde on the Baltic Sea, and back to Calais. It was a perfect blend of diverse landscapes, history, and adventure.

34 days on the road
33 nights away
Out of the 33 nights, Chris mixed it up between hotels, camping, and a stay with a friend. Here's how it worked out:
21 nights in hotels
11 nights under camping
1 night at a friend’s
“During the solo part of the trip, I stayed 14 nights in hotels and 11 nights camping. I usually camp when I’m out in nature, but for city sightseeing, I prefer the comfort of a hotel. this trip had a good balance of both.”
Motorways can really make or break a long ride. Here are the standouts for Chris:
Best motorways: Croatia and Slovenia offered smooth, well-maintained roads, ideal for long-distance cruising.
Urban traffic can be unpredictable, and I had my fair share of it on this trip.
Best traffic: Berlin’s traffic moved surprisingly well, making city riding much less stressful.
Europe is steeped in history, and Chris made the most of it.
Best art and culture: Florence, Siena, and Rome stood out for their rich history and breathtaking art.
Best military history: Peenemunde, Berlin, and walking through three different submarines were unforgettable. The museums were incredible too.
The natural beauty of Europe was one of the best parts of the trip. Here are the top spots:
Best nature: Walchensee, San Bernardino Pass, and Camp Bironica in Croatia were awe-inspiring. The entire Croatian coastline was stunning.
Best scenery: Sicily and Croatia—both offered dramatic, jaw-dropping views that I’ll never forget.
The Triumph Rocket III was the star of the trip!
Reliable, powerful, and adaptable to any situation, whether cruising on the autostrada or tackling twisty alpine roads.
Triumph Rocket III: “Not a single issue, an absolute beast of a bike.”
TomTom GPS: “Made navigation a breeze.”
61-litre Givi luggage: “Held all my gear and then some.”
Digital tire pressure pump: “A must-have for long trips.”
Camping/cooking equipment: “Made outdoor living comfortable and convenient.”
Reserve battery pack: “Died on me, so I’ll need a new one before my next adventure.”
Air mattress: “Couldn’t hold air through the night, leading to uncomfortable mornings unless I re-inflated it in the middle of the night.
I’ll definitely need to find a more reliable option before the next camping trip. It’s a common camper's problem!”
Next year, Chris is aiming for Scandinavia. After this successful European loop, Chris is eager to explore more of what Europe has to offer.
With 38,676 miles on the clock, the Triumph Rocket III has proven itself time and again. It was the perfect choice for this adventure!

Laguna Motorcycles Limited (which include multiple trading names: Laguna Motorcycles, Laguna Performance Centre, Laguna Triumph, Maidstone Honda, Maidstone Harley-Davidson® and Kent Motorcycles) is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Laguna Motorcycles Limited (which include multiple trading names: Laguna Motorcycles, Laguna Performance Centre, Laguna Triumph, Maidstone Honda, Maidstone Harley-Davidson® and Kent Motorcycles) to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.
We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a carefully selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. We act on behalf of the lender for this introduction and not as your agent. We are not impartial, and we are not an independent financial advisor.
Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next most suitable offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure a suitable finance agreement for you that enables you to achieve your financial objectives. If you purchase a vehicle, in the majority of cases, we will receive a commission from your lender for introducing you to them which is either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you purchase.
Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement; however, you will be contributing towards the commission paid to us with the interest collected on your repayments. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission. The exact amount of commission that we will receive will be confirmed prior to you signing your finance agreement.
