Staff from our Laguna Motorcycles store in Maidstone journeyed up to Birmingham for the annual NEC Motorcycle Live exhibition. This exhibition features the latest innovations from the most significant motorcycle manufacturers across the globe, including the brands we offer, like Ducati, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM, Triumph and Kawasaki. Scroll down to see how the team found the day and what was on show!
Triumph showcased some of their latest and greatest models this year including the brand-new Chrome Collection, Street Triple 765 family and a special talk from @thegirlonabike (Vanessa Ruck) who recently completed the '1000 Dunas' on a Tiger 900 Rally Pro. The stand looked spectacular, especially with the raised platform showing off the Thruxton RS Chrome Collection edition, which was sparkling hard.
Suzuki brought in the big guns for this year's Motorcycle Live. The stand showcased all the new additions such as the GSX-8S, V-Strom 800DE, Address and Avenis. In addition to some very much adored heritage models and off-road selections too. If you haven't tried out the V-Strom 800DE yet, make sure you do... our team agreed it couldn't have a more comfortable riding position - it's excellent!
The Ducati stand brought some truly exceptional Italian engineering and mechanical beauty to this year's Motorcycle Live exhibition. Featuring an immaculate centrepiece for the almost instantly sold-out Lamborghini Streetfighter. Other 2023 World Premier first looks were the Diavel V4 with its rocket launcher exhaust system, the new Scrambler range full of colour and the Multistrada V4 Rally. In addition to a stunning display of bikes, Ducati also showcased some stylish new garments for Ducatista to try on!
KTM brought us their finest collection of 1290 beasts, 890 scalpels and small-capacity warriors for us to enjoy. The stand had expert staff on hand ready to answer any questions we had and a special showcase film - Michael Rutter's TT lap on the 1290 Super Duke R Evo. Additionally, KTM were giving out a FREE KTM fan packs for the first ten lucky riders to show them their KTM key!
This Japanese motorcycle brand really knows how to do a motorcycle show, offering more than one variation of each model including the latest range. We got to see the Hornet CB750 (in all of its colour options), the all-new Transalp and the all-new CL500. More than bikes, Honda also featured a sign to meet and greet the Honda Racing team too. The stand was running a competition all weekend which was a nice touch too, where you could be in with a chance to win a Honda Off-Road Experience Day.
Our staff were eager to try the off-road experience with Reece, (Parts Advisor), riding the Honda Africa Twin and Brayden, (Content Lead), riding the Yamaha Ténéré 700. The course featured some multi-terrain obstacles, a selection of motorcycles and some great advice from experts on the sidelines. Some of the models available on this off-road experience included the Triumph Street Scrambler, Ducati DesertX, Tiger 1200 Rally Pro, Honda CRF300L and Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid Edition.
It seemed only fitting to stop off at the MCN-rated Number 1 Biker Cafe in the UK seeing as we were passing by! Super Sausage offers a spectacular roadside menu, including the 'Super Dog' which the guys annihilated in less than thirty minutes flat! Be sure to give these guys a visit if you're in the area!
A note from Brayden:
"The Super Dog is without a doubt the best hotdog I've ever had. It came out of the kitchen the size of my head, and it could very possibly go down as the single best eating experience of my life. Thanks guys!"
Tag us in your photos on social media, we'd love to see them!

Laguna Motorcycles Limited (which include multiple trading names: Laguna Motorcycles, Laguna Performance Centre, Laguna Triumph, Maidstone Honda, Maidstone Harley-Davidson® and Kent Motorcycles) is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Laguna Motorcycles Limited (which include multiple trading names: Laguna Motorcycles, Laguna Performance Centre, Laguna Triumph, Maidstone Honda, Maidstone Harley-Davidson® and Kent Motorcycles) to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.
We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a carefully selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. We act on behalf of the lender for this introduction and not as your agent. We are not impartial, and we are not an independent financial advisor.
Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next most suitable offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure a suitable finance agreement for you that enables you to achieve your financial objectives. If you purchase a vehicle, in the majority of cases, we will receive a commission from your lender for introducing you to them which is either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you purchase.
Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement; however, you will be contributing towards the commission paid to us with the interest collected on your repayments. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission. The exact amount of commission that we will receive will be confirmed prior to you signing your finance agreement.
All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over. Guarantees may be required. Please see our complaints page for our complaints policiy and regulatory complaints.
