The Suzuki DL650 V-Strom has been around for quite some time now. Stacking up to over 15 years of age, the model has come far from its initial release. As an adventure bike with so much potential offered at an incredibly affordable price point, the model continues to have a successful fan base worldwide.
On paper, the V-Strom 650 makes perfect sense. Forged with a sporty-yet approachable 71hp engine, it has a flexible 645cc v-twin ready to give you a substantial thrill. Over the model's upgrades, Suzuki has implemented a smoother more seamless transmission and seems to have extinguished the initial model's quirks - like transmission lashing and unfriendly mpg.
As for chassis and handling, the V-Strom 650 has never been better, with substantial upgrades throughout the years. This model is a great bike to start your adventure career on due to its nimble agility and comforting ergonomics. Comfort was definitely one of the key aspects this bike had to nail, addressed with a great cushioned seat, relaxed upright riding position and easy-to-reach controls. Adding to this bike's already confidence-inspiring ride, the Tokico brakes work wonders on most terrains and work effectively in all weather conditions.
Although this bike is not packed with the latest in motorcycle technology innovation, it does have everything you may need. Suzuki has equipped this ride with Advanced Traction Control, a Low RPM Assist and Suzuki's Easy Start System. Other creature comforts around the bike include an optimised riding screen with adjustment settings, an adventure lighting setup and an informative display including a fuel range meter.
You can also opt-in for the XT version of this motorcycle, which has its own special features. Touring on the XT will be effortless with wire spoke wheels for better shock absorption, knuckle covers and engine cowling. The XT also has a new colour option,a bright and aggressively bold Champion Yellow!
